I received my C4 EZ Vent and installed it yesterday, including the secondary piece - and took the car for a spin. It works great, really happy with it.
So I get home and take it off because I am going to wash the car. All is well, wash the car and go in for a beer. I came back out to admire my girl and noticed that the interior lights - just the two behind the setas on the b-pillar are on. Nothing is open...none of the other interior lights are on...but these won't go out?
I ended up pulling the fuse just to kill the lights so it wouldn't drain my battery.
So what's the deal...Is this related to my EZ Vent?

I have a vert but used to own an 86 coupe. It seems like there is a switch that turns on the interior lights when you pop the hatch. I'll bet the switch is just corroded and it took this time to act up. Try cleaning it (if that is possible?) or replacing it.
I recently removed my instrument fascia in order to do some work. After I put it back on there is no light to the tach area (1987). It worked perfectly before. If I had known it was going bad then I would have replaced it while it was apart. It is always somethin!
I had a similar issue with a previous hatch vent. Turns out that because the hatch will move somewhat with the vent installed, the plunger moved around just enough to trip the switch and set off the pillar lights. I used a small dab of JB Weld on the end of the plunger and sanded it flat. Worked well until I bought a billet type vent from a forum member.
