Default What is this light for?

My 91 has what looks like a red light mounted in the console between the power seat controls. I thought some previous owner had added it for what ever. I just saw one one on eBay with the exact same deal! Is this a factory deal and what is it?

Thanks!

I've never seen that before, looks to me like someone added it, do you have the link to the ebay ad that has it too.

It looks like it is for an aftermarket alarm.

I believe it is the 'passenger ejection active' warning light.

I have a similar one on the left side of the steering column, infront of the gauges. Untill I disconnected it, it would flash when the alarm was armed.

I wired my LED, to a SuperBright LED, and put it in the DIC, behind the SECURITY word, so, now when I arm my alarm, SECURITY flashes on the dash. Pretty neat little trick.

I have one that's about 2 inches ahead of yours, right below the shifter boot. It never does anything and I don't want to go hunting for wires. I figured it was an aftermarket alarm system form the past and I just ignore it.

That light should start flashing if the interior of your car gets too dirty.

Its the rare OEM " Late Payment Light ". These were installed when people with questionable credit bought one of these cars.

There is a sensor in the passenger seat that can detect pheromones and body weight. If it detects a female over 119lbs it will disable the motor. It is a safety device for if you are at a bar and pick up a fat chick.

Most likely a blinking led to make people think you have a better alarm then the factory.

It's a "Murphy Laws" light. It starts blinking just before your Corvette is about to go to hell in a hand basket..... costing you as much $ as possible at the worst possible time. Mine goes off all the time.
