I have a 95' coupe with automatic. I am constantly asked how fast is it.? Does anyone out there have the factory figures or any magazine articles that give top speed, 0-60 and 1/4 mile times ? I did see 130mph this week end on a long straight stretch of Interstate up here in Montana, before my wife came ubglued. It was still pulling hard when I quit.

If it has a 2.59 rear end, it "should" do 165+. Never seen it for myself, so I cannot verify.

Grandson looks over at the speedo in my 87 last week and says, "Is 85 all the faster this will go?" Gotta love the lawyer that came up with that advice for the speedo numbers. I used to have an 81 and its speedo only went up to 85 too. WTH!

Friday my daughter and I drove to the lake in the 40th. She asked me how fast I was going when my jacket almost flew out of the car. So I told her, she said WOW... I said well watch this... Then her eyes got real big when she saw 140.... Then I clicked it back over to MPH. She is 5, she really thought we were going that fast. Had alot of explaining to do to the in-laws when she told them

What can I say, so I started 10ft to soon.... At least I slowed down for her to catch up..... Granted I had to take off quick again so that she would not lose momentum. She only had a little smoke to drive thru.

I love it! They met whatever requirement to max at 85, but the numbers still count up to 255. Who looks at the bars anyways.
My 85 Ford has a 140 speedo, all the others have an 85mph one. The 140 cars weren't sold to the public though.

Take it to the track and find out.
Every car is different due to weather conditions, car condition and driver conditions.
Mine hit a 12.97@106 totally stock, yet others claim that it isn't so, but Jim can verify since he was there. I also have a timeslip of me and 65Z01(Jim) running side by side where I ran a 12.99, so it wasn't a fluke.
Some guys can't break out the 14's. That's not to say my car is better, they are geographically challenged, that's all.
Even car magazines have named NJ as having the best air for racing.
Here in missouri it seems like pretty good atmosphere for racing. i hear about these cars with cams, sr, ported heads, and headers and stuff in places like ca that i think would run alot faster here.

I don't think you'll ever find out your top speed on a track though, well maybe but it would take something like Road America and then I'm still not so sure. Montana sounds like a fun place to find out. But I'd sure hate to hit some critter crawling across the road at 175mph+.
