Can anyone help solve my problem? I just bought a 93' Polo Green coupe 6 weeks ago and when I put in a cd it tries to read it then displays err and ejects the cd.
This happens to almost everyone I know. If it's to hot or to cold this will happen. There are more reasons but I just don't know all of them. Gotta love B-O-S-E!!
Was this an original CD or one you burned? I've noticed that my '94's Bose CD player doesn't like any of the CD-R's I've created, but plays the original bought ones no problem.
My 1994 has the same problem. Most of the time, I get the error and eject problem on purchased CDs. It does play occasionally. No CDRs play at all, it's not that kind of CD player.
Try to listen to a different CD. It could be that the CD you're trying to listen to was recorded on a type that the Bose unit cannot read. Try to listen to a commercially sold CD and if that doesn't play, I'd say your Bose player definitely has a problem.
Bose units on the C4 are inundated with a myriad of problems. When I bought my car, one of the first things I did was remove the Bose player, all the amps and everything associated with it. It took quite a long time, but well worth it. In place of the Bose system, I had installed, an Alpine MP3 player, all new front and rear speakers, and an amplifier. It never sounded better and still does to this day - four years later. It wasn't cheap, but I like sound coming from my speakers when I want it to and I like it to be crystal clear. The Bose sounded like crap.
This is a very common problem. A shop called Dr. Don's can rebuild the CD player for $130 and give you a one year warranty. Many forum members including myself have been happy with their services. Here's their site: http://doctordons.com
Doctor Dons rebuilt mine (92 Bose Gold with CD) and it works great .Now the rear speaker amps are gone so I have to have someone rebuild them. The one thing I have learned about these Stereo's they fail not from use but from age .My car had less than 15000 miles on it when I got it. The CD didn't work the ant needed a new mask and now the amps I now have 17100 miles .
