What would be better, an oak plank or a pine one. Or ramps, metal or plastic? What about a filter wrench, strap type or bottom type? AC Delco or Fram? Synthetic or dino? Cotton rags or polyester to clean up? GOJO or LAVA? SK or Craftsman?
LT1s are an easy change out. I would go with the metal ramp, I dont trust plastic for some reason. just make sure to inspect the welding every once in awhile as a precautionary measure.
I used the Fram oil filters in my 95 Z28 and didnt need a filter wrench. They came with the black grip on the oil filter made changing very fast. I hate filter wrenches.
I always llike the synthetic. The advances in modern science are more exact than what occurs in nature.
And whatever rag you have with in reach would work.
Craftsman or Husky.
Whats the problem w/using a floor jack, is your ride a show custom, plated, epoxy painted, pinstripped , neon lighted...... then just have something on the jack plate
I guess real ramps of some sort is your only option, or a quick oilchange joint..
I couldn't find any planks small enough to fit under mine so I just turned it upside down and set it on a soft surface so I wouldn't scratch the paint.
How about an engine lift, strap it to your front bumper and jack her up. If you can get it high enough you might be able to just stand there and do it and not worry about scraping your back.
