Im looking at some chrome valve covers from GMPP. Got a question though, does anyone know the diference btween these two part numbers and which one is the correct application for the LT4? This is what Im looking at so far. Correct me if Im wrong on any of these parts please.
What is the difference between the valve covers listed above and #12497978? Next question is who has the best deal on these parts? Thanks for the help.
i've checked into this, chrome vs. polished........from the responses i got and some folks i talked to, the polished version requires alot more maintenance.
i believe you best deal is most likely superior chevrolet, be sure to tell them you're a CF member (for discount).......talk to chris may at (800)728-8267.
the covers are about 1/4" taller than stock. talk to superior chevrolet about LT4 application.
I already called Superior and spoke with some jerk off that didnt know too much. Asked him about a CF discount, he said no. Asked if Chris worked ther, he said not anymore.

You have to find a set that will clear the AC bracket on the passenger side. I have NEVER found anything other then painted stock plastic covers. LPE makes a nice cover for $300.00

this is an error condition. i just got off the phone with chris may a minute ago, whoever talked to you must have been on a diet of 'ludes!
I used to own a set of these covers and the paint inside the letters and Chevy emblem didn't last 6 months, it all peeled off.
Just a FYI.
I was going to put a Grand Sport emblem over that anyways. I measured the sapce between the stock covers and the alternator bracket, and it would be a close fit.
