Need to replenish the A/C on a 93 Coupe. Plan on having the system changed from R-12 to R-134a. Was told that somewhere under the hood it tells how much refrigerant is need to fill the system. Can someone tell me where to find the info or how much is needed? I have looked every where with no luck.
Thanks
GM usually puts it on the blower motor case. The '93 should take 2.25 lbs of R12 (use 80% of that for an R134 conversion or 1.8 lbs - about 2.5 12oz cans) plus 8 ozs of compatible oil (assuming you're going to swap out the accummulator - put 4ozs in the new one and 4 ozs in the compressor).
Just a little ditty for everyone.
R-134a will be outlawed, like R-12, in a couple of years.
Price has jumped from around $81 for 30 lbs to over $270 for 30 lbs.
Buy it now if you want it, R-22 too.
It was listed as an interim gas.
I think R-22 is gone in 2008 too. Hello Puron, ask Carrier.
