Default Reviving leather

The seats in my just aquired 95' are dull and dryed out. Is there any way of bringing back the luster and color. They are black. They are still in good condition just hard and faded.

Mequires (sorry for the misspelling) worked pretty good on my Corvette chair. When I got the seat it was hard as a rock. Looked like it sat outside for some time. Now it is getting softer with each application.

Default Hard leather

My black/black 94 is the same way. The leather is in good shape just super hard and dry. You can barely tell its leather.....

Meguiars, for sure! Keep applying and it will get softer with each application. I met someone 2 yrs ago with the same problem, and with Mequiars, the seats are now alot softer.
Good Luck

One thing I find that cleans very well and does'nt give your interior that overdone shiny look is Woolight. Mix a couple of cap fulls of Woolight and warm water in a small bucket. Clean with a sponge or rag, then use a clean bucket of water and clean rag to wipe off left over soap. The interior comes out with a nice clean look, feel, and smell.

As a protectant after the cleaning, and to revive leather, I use Murphys Oil on a dry rag and rub it into everything then gently wipe down with a clean rag. Murphys can also be used to clean, just mix with warm water in the same way as with the Woolight.

How often do they/you treat the seats to get them back to this condition? I have been using Mcguiars about once a month since I got my 94 last September, I haven't seen the improvement I had hoped for.

"Doc Bailey's Boot Black".

It's a dye and conditioner made specifically for leather.

I use it on my shoes, leather jacket, and motorcycle seat and bags.

I go to our local tack shop and get a quality sadle cleaner and conditioner. It does a great job restoring seats.

With whatever you use, it may take a few applications before the seats really start to feel soft, so don't be afraid to do repeat applications.

Lexol for leather, Finish 2001 for everything else...

Using the protectant, slather it on heavily for the first couple of times and walk away..let the leather absorb it. This works very well with Finish 2001 and dried out dash pads as well.

I have heard Lexol recommended by almost everyone I have talked to. I am about to recondition my hardend seats as well. I will take some before and after pics and maybe a little video too so that you can get a feel for the difference in softness. Gonna use Lexol.

The best product I have used on my white leather seats is "Leatherique". It is a cleaner / restorer. It leaves the seats soft and rich. Pulls out the leather's own oils.

Check out their web site. Lots of good info on leather cleaning and care. http://leatherique.com/

Leatherique is very expensive, but it works. You apply it by hand in two steps. Then you have to let it sit. Clear directions are included.

The wife lexoled the seats and then applied mink oil (?) yesterday; they've never felt smoother (and now I owe her something, I just don't know what it is yet!)
