Nash 4+3 Shift linkage access
It was all operating great but when we took it down, the reverse gear was not disengaging completely. I had to force the shifter out of the reverse position and was able to get the car in a forward gear and nurse it back home but, the reverse gear kept grinding
a little bit until I finally got it home.Once I took the transmission out, I found the front OD unit input shaft seal had been moved out of place, which appeared to be the cause of the reverse gear, not disengaging completely.
I guess my question now is: since the transmission appears to be shifting okay, off the car, and now I'm having a problem with the linkage all attached, I'm thinking that when I dislodged the shifter out of reverse, I may have "jumped" something out of place, in the linkage area at the base of the shifter.
What's the best/easiest way to access this area and just go in and realign the components for proper functioning?
TIA for any input/assistance with this,
