Default Transmission Update (Final)

Finally got the car back today. All said and done it was $2139.57

$1045.33 labor at $70/hour.
$1020.27 for all of the parts
329.63 for the rebuild kit, band, filter, fluids
299.00 for the new converter
104.98 for the new starter
25.24 for the new flex plate
other parts and tax
12/12 warranty

He didn't charge me for a few things and updated some other things as I asked him to build it with the 3-4 9 clutch pack. It turned out that it was the wrong servo after all. I have to go back for a 10 day check in a couple of weeks. The good news is that my summer job money however I want as long as I realize that when I get done with school and a real job she gets it all. I was thinking about the $250 straight pipes from Mid America for now, so I can get rid of those rusty things I have now.

Gotta pay to play. I just got my parts for my transmission yesterday. Standards aren't much cheaper.

The guy said my engine will fail before the tranny... that sounds like a verbal guarantee there...

Any opinions on the straight pipes from Mid America? http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=3.36.928

I have these pipes. I have had them installed since 1991. They fit well and uncorked 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile. I suspect it was worth an honest 20 or more hp. They are not emissions legal and are very loud. If fast and loud sound like your thing, you will love them. At age 38, I now think they are too loud. At age 24, when I installed them, they were perfect.
