I installed new Edlebrock Performance IAS shocks yesterday on all four corners myself and got a 4 wheel alignment done locally. The install was a snap and only took me a couple hours, about 3.0. I think I could do all 4 now in an hour since I know the process. BTW, they Chilton's manual is very good.
Anyway, I have great things to say about the Edlebrock shocks. They ride awesome. That inertia valve is really doing what it is supposed to do. I can hit some choppy roads here where there is contruction and they soak up the harsh bumps very nice; then when I brake hard there isn't really any nose dive. The rear shocks let in some weight transfer under acceleration, not much, but enough to keep the rears from lighting up. In the curves she is flat as a pancake, and very solid.
They are also very good at highlighting the fact one of the tires isn't round at speed.
Note to self, driving around on bad shocks does screw up your tires!
Consider that a lesson learned. New BFG's down the drain.
Also, the red shocks look kinda cool on an LT4. They go well with the intake, plug wires etc. Kinda subtle, but cool.
I shoulda took some pics for yall, I am truley a retard, but If anyone wants I'll get some still, just not of the install, since it is done.
Yeah, I wanna see'em. Post 'em when you can. Hmm. Sounds very good. Question for ya: why didn't you choose the KYBs, not to flame those who did, just wondering? Thanks. And good job. Three hours? You must be really good at it.
I guess I really didn't know anything about shocks, I kept asking opinions and found that these, the Bilsteins, or the KYB's and some others were reccomended. For me the inertia valve, thats patented on the Edlebrock caught my attention, so I got those. It may just be a gimmick, but they have a patent on it and it seems to be great. I really dont have anything but the original shot bilsteins to compare against these new shocks, but they handle great.
Looks good. Seems to handle good. Price I assume isn't bad from what I've read. What more could you ask for? Thanks for the pics. Maybe I'll come to your house---shocks in hand--and say, please?????? j/kidding.
I have Edelbrocks on my 92. Gives me a much smoother ride than the Bilsteins. I really didn't want to install them because they look so cool coming out of the box.
How much $$ were they? Worth it over the $22/ea KYB's?
C'mon Clarence. You're kidding, right? You just happened to omit a smiley or "j/k" right? You couldn't possibly be making fun of someone buying a reputable shock that might cost a bit more than a $22 KYB. Or, this is a very good friend of yours who understands your jokes, right? Then again, maybe I'm misinterpreting this; maybe you're seriously asking if they're worth the extra money over a $22 KYB. But how could USAF tell? He's never owned a KYB on that car.

Standby for pics. They are coming.
That about sums them up...
There is a valve that as the shock shaft moves, it either stays open for soft ride, or, closes to firm up the ride.
I am very interested in getting these for bastet44s 87. Coil overs are not so easy on her model as they are on my 92.
