Most of the shop will do better work than the Chev dealer and are cheaper also they work on a lot more C4 now that they are no longer under warranty.

Find a local Vette club and ask them for Help. They should be able to direct you to a good shop.
And as stated above, I agree you should report the dealer shop to GM. If they don't know how or aren't capable they shouldn't be a dealer service shop.
