Default Fire Extiguisher Bracket

Who sells the bracket for under the passenger seat? After seeing all the vettes going up in smoke I am thinking I need to get one.

Thanks,
Doug

I'm pretty sure Eckler's sells it. I went looking for one back when I first bought my car, but the price they wanted was sickening (something like $50, IIRC), so I let it slide while I consider other options. If anyone can find one at a decent price, or set up a GP, I'm all ears.

Be well,

SJW

I have the bracket made by Brey-Kruese and sold thru Ecklers. Way over priced but was perfect fit and a quality piece. No mods to car.

I just bought a Brey-Kruese bracket as well, but haven't had a chance to put it on yet. Also picked up a "new" Halon 2.5 lb extinguisher.

Shortly after signing on this forum, there were a bunch of reported engine fires. My first mod was a fire extinguisher and a cable cutter for the battery.

A few months later my buddies 87 caught fire when the starter cable made contact with the r/h exhaust heat shroud. Guess what? He had no fire extinguisher! We just kept throwing dirt until the flames quit.

Buy one and then you'll never need it!

You might want to check at your local boating store. They should have what you need.

I just PM'ed Dave at R-D Racing to see if we can get a Group Purchase going on a Bracket and Extinguisher package. Sent him this link to show the interest. See what happens, if nothing else I believe there is a 10% discount if you mention the forum when you order.

count me in for the group purchase.

If the GP covers a bracket that will fit C5's, count me in for one of those as well.

Doug
Doug,

I'd be happy to do a Gp on the mount, but I can't help on the extinguisher. Since 9-11, DOT regulations require a company to be haz-mat certified in order to ship compressed cylinders and we are not. In fact, most of the companies that are still shipping them are not suppose to and when they get caught, they'll probally be out of business. The fines are pretty severe.

I've been referring customers to their local fire departments to pick-up the extinguisher. There seems to always be at least one fire fighter that sells them on the side and they get a better deal than buying one retail somewhere.

If we could get at least 10 orders, I would do a Gp for $35 with free shipping.

Thanks,
Dave
