Just when I saved up enough to seriously start buying parts for my head and cam upgrade, my wife's Durango dropped reverse. I have the 60 month/75000 mile warranty and guess what, I have 79000 miles on it.
I can only hope the dealship will take pity on me and give me a break.
Looks like you have luck simalar to mine=none. The local chrysler dealership here has 2 full time tranny guys on staff. Even they say that the units do not hold up near as well as they should. Shame. Good luck.

I think I need a case of beer.
Good luck!! If you had the rig serviced there since new, they may cut you a break but if not, you would probably be much better off by going to a reputable tranny shop.
I'd send you a case of beer to drown your sorrow, but it would be warm by the time it got there so I'll just drink it for you (in your name of course!!)

I feel your pain. I just had a parking lot encounter with a light pole and my GMC Sierra. $500 deductible = $500 less to spend on the Corvette this summer.
About 5 years back I had the rack & pinion go out on my wifes Intrepid and it was out of warranty. The dealer actually covered it under warranty somehow. I'm not sure what they did, but I'm sure they got paid!
That is the reason I traded my wife's 5.9 RT for the Vette, we had about 40k on the odometer and I for a couple of years I had been reading all of the transmission woes on the "Durango Owners Club" I thought that it was the typical those that have problems are vocal on the internet and those that are satisfied are the silent majority when within a two month period people that I worked with had transmission problems. So I traded in a great low milage vehicle that looked cherry due to my insecurity about its tranny.
I hope it works out for you!!
Mike
It's amazing. I had a 1975 Plymouth Van (maxi) with the 360 cu in and the A727 tranny and we put over 300k on that beautiful piece of transportation. That tranny was the leader in the industry as far as reliablity and strength. What happened? I guess it's time to get rid of the Durango. It's a shame cause it was a nice SUV to have. So now who has a good SUV that can tow a car hauler (please no Fords).
