"ASR" — When..... ..... .....??

on the dash, I assume that it is used only in "wet weather". When do you
activate the "ASR OFF" (appearing in "red" on the dash panel) — in wet
weather or during normal driving?? Exactly what is this function for?
If you push the button and turn it off on the other hand......

What he said. It's always on unless you turn it off. You know when it's activated because the "ASR Active" light will come on the DIC and the gas pedal will kick back at you. I actually like the feature... and I like that it's defeatable if you want it to be.

I never use mine, but I happen to enjoy buying new rear tires every 4-6 months. Honestly though... if you just bought your car, I would leave it on for a while as it will keep you from looseing the azz end and plowing into a curb or worse if you aren't ready for what the car is going to do
1) You're driving pretty hard on the streets!
2) You may want to consider turning it off:
2a) when you are comfortable and familiar with the handling of the car, and,
2b) you understand that you *may* one day end up with the nose pointing the wrong direction.
I leave mine on, but I drive pretty gingerly. There are those who will surely chime in claiming that their ASR "almost killed them" when they pulled out in traffic and it kicked on, thus preventing them from being able to accelerate away from the approaching traffic.
Mmkay -
1) If you have to hit the gas *that* hard to merge, you're probably trying to squeeze into a space that's too small anyway, and
2) If the ASR kicked on and "almost killed you," just what do you think would've happened when your tires lit up and the rearend slid around without the car moving forward???
