First off, '85s have the L98, not the LT1 (that is, unless someone took A LOT of trouble to put one in). Here's a link to a good C4 site.

By the way, a good investment would be to get yourself a Helms shop manual. It will help you diagnosis most if not all of your C4's ills. Very good read! Good luck.

You reset the codes by disconnecting the battery for 10 seconds. Bingo, codes reset. I have a shop book-post the codes you are pulling and I will look them up for you

You can also just touch the "A" to ground. When your fan came on the "service engine" light should have blinked once/twice....once/twice...once/twice (three times) Next, it will either continue doing the once/twice code for no codes stored or give you an actual code....like it blinks 4 times then 4 times....it should do this three times again....when it goes back to once/twice then there are no more codes stored. The bottom line....your were there and you didn't even know it. Good luck tonight!
