What are these for?

What are the threaded ***** for that are next to the screws that hold the targa top on in the front?

Sounds like something to hold some after market product. Perhaps a sun shade of some sorts?

Sounds like they are for a "Raincoat" top. I have one and there is a threaded **** on each side, mounted on a bracket attached to the top of the windshield.

that must be it! I took the top off tonight for the first time and removed them.
