Damn that car was nice. Wish i could have kept it but did not have rooma t the time in Rhode island. Now i have a C5 and the Ruby C4 which i really like but there was something about this vert. Maybe i should buy it back LOL
Interesting thread! I had 2 C4's and then stepped to the plate and bought a brand new '99...pewter silver/silver interior with HUD, the optional Mag wheels and pretty much everything else they offered. It was truely a nice car and I enjoyed it for 1.5 years but guess what? I sold it and bought another C4, the one I own now. I was more discriminating about the options and condition of the new C4, but for me, made the right decision and have absolutely no regrets. Back to the thread....if you really miss the car bad enough to make this post, perhaps it's time to think outside the box, sell the C5 and grab the car you wish you would have never sold. How many people have the opportunity to make up for past mistakes?
One more thought-If I had the chance to exchange my '86 for a new C6, and the decision was based on car preference and not current day value, I would keep my '86 hands down! (The new ones are too boxy, hate the headlights and just don't scream "Corvette" like the older ones)
That's the type of story that makes me want to hang on to the 89.Its such a good car, I hate the thought of letting it go. Amazing the bond we have with these hunks of 'glass and metal, huh?

Yeah, codependency at its worst. Maybe I'll take the car out in classic style with a murder-suicide.
Don't get me wrong. The C5 is not going anywhere but i am missing this vert. The Ruby is such a nice color and a last to drive and is in good shape but i loved the white with the chrome door handles and wheels.
I don't plan on modding the ruby at all cosmetically either. So maybe it's just a little plain jane for me.
I told you not to sell it Bob. It was a nice car for sure! We had some real good times cruisin with the two white verts!

I would not have sold it had i had the space. You saw the difference between the space i had in Rhode Island Vs now in ATL. I'll always miss that car. The chrome door handle and wheels i thought made it.
I like the Ruby a lot too with the C4 coupe being almost a Claustrophic envirnment inside and a 6 speed it feels like a racecar. Different feel than the vert wheich was definitely classier looking.
I still remember when the movers came to take the Vert to TX when i sold it the guy asked if it was a 2000 model LOL.
Like the 1st poster said though can't complain having two vettes in the garage.
