Default Brake problem

I just installed a new master cyl and speed bleeders on my 94. Whenever I drive over really bumpy roads the pedal will go half way down before braking but if I let off, it starts working normal again. Could this be a problem with air in the lines? (I did bleed it really thoroughly) What else could cause the pedal to sag and then be fine after letting off? The going down doesn't seem to affect braking performance much. (I didn't really get on it when they did sag.)

I would redo the bleeding, check the manual for your year to make sure you follow the correct sequence. The longest path from the master brake cyclinder to the caliper may not be as direct as you think, remember it may go through the ABS system.

Try bleeding the brakes according to the factory service manual. Also, check to be sure the lines going into the master cylinder are tight and not cross-threaded; be sure the fluid reservoir is fully seated into the master cylinder and not loose.

There is a bleed screw on the ABS unit on my 94 coupe. Its under the hatch behind the drivers seat. I would have never known it was there without checking the manual.
