I'm was thinking about having some kind of "get-together" so we can all meet each other and have a good time talking about our cars.

If there is enough interest I'd like to proceed with something but I want other peeps opinions.

What do you think? Good Idea?

I live in Lakeland which is dead shot center of the state (for the most part) so I figured this area would be a central location for everyone.

Ok Great!... Just keep an eye on this thread and if we get enough response and suggestions on location I'll proceed with planning it and post everything here.

Thank you,
Jesse

Yeah I'm in! Sucks the track got rained out tonight and Fuzzy Dice and some others turned around heading back to the east coast of FL, easily a 100 mile drive here for nothing. Hopefully next Fri will bring good weather.

Hey Jesse, the airport has a great deal of parking, easy directions to find, plenty of seating and I know the owner if you'd like me to talk to him. Want me to give it a shot?

Airport?? Which one? What are we gonna be doing there? Nice long and flat pavement, can't beat it, plus it is a nice place to do G-Tech runs, if you know what I mean.

I don't think we'd have that many attend to need that much space but we can always leave that open as an option if you wanted to see if it would fly with him...

I had two places in mind.... Carter Road park down by Mulberry or Hunt Fountain Park up here on the north side...

Carter road would offer more space but they frequently have softball games during the weekend.
I work for the county so I can reserve (Block off) an area at a county park if we decide to go that route.

IMO, We need to see if we can get a group interested in a meet before we plan too far ahead.

I'd like to see a 20 to 30 response then plan from that....

I'll contact Robert (pewter99) from the Tampa area and have him get ahold of the crew over there. I would suggest you contact him also for some planning tips. Numbers on here and reality of people actually showing up are worlds apart i've found out. Usually have to plan on a date about three weeks out. Anyway, contact Robert and talk to him. Have a good evening.

I'll come over...I'm getting good at the drive...lol...of course, you know where I'd suggest meeting..he he...

It does seem that organizing a lunch meeting seems to work well..if you did it on a Saturday I might hang around and run the evening event at Lakeland Drag Strip...my two drag racing buddies from Lake Wales would probably come up...they drive those "cheatin" C5's though...lol

The A/C is still not to be turned on.... ...it's the windows up in the rain and no defroster that's killing me... ...Lakeland is a two towel drive to wipe the inside windows while driving... ...Jupiter might be a 10 towel trip...

As others have said, it depends on when. I'd enjoy meeting some other forum members, but I work most Saturdays. I'll keep an eye on this thread too.
Oh and by the way, nice color on your '85.
