Brake Issues
I have an 89 Vert and was driving the other day and when I pressed the brake pedal it pushed down a lot further than normal. I thought for a secong I didn't have brakes. Then I let off and it was back to normal. I have been noticing the pedal feels softer at times than others. It just started doing this over the last few months, but nothing like the other day. I'm thinking the master cylinder, but not sure. Any ideas on what this may be? Thanks guys.

If you are worried or bugged---pull the wheels and do an inspection. Check for leaks or a bad brake hose (expands). Do a complete brake system flush, probably the first time flushed and do a bleed.

It does sound like the master. As stated, it could be a caliper, but doesn't sound like it. Check all your brake hoses to ensure they didn't spring a leak. If they're okay, pull your wheels and check the calipers for leaks. If they're okay, I'd change the master and while you're there, flush the system. And don't forget to bleed it too.
