Default rim suggestions

It has come to my attention that my stock sawblades on my 93 ruby convertible need to be repaired (some have a small flat-spot). Also, I hate how the previous owner never cleaned the inside of the rims so there is years of caked on brake dust on the inner rim. I really like the new corvette 5 spoke rims in chrome or a zr-1 rim in chrome so I can still usemy center caps. I'd prefer 18" all around. What do people suggest...

thanks,
Justin

Many around here have had good luck with AFS and OE wheels. Both have storefronts on Ebay.

As far as getting 18", couldnt say... got 17's myself and am pretty happy with them.

Check this guy out: He's a supporting vendor.
I heard he sells good wheels at a good price.

Just disregard what Larry said. And get what we tell you to get. We know better. He doesn't.

I'm going to eventually upgrade the braking system with new rotors and calipers which I want to show off. So the less rim, the better. Also, what size should I get and offset? I don't want to have the tires stick out

I'm gonna have to say..............wait a second.............go with these wheels! 18" all the way around and they look gorgeous! Well worth it and the look I get everywhere I go is priceless! Kind of like deer looking at headlights.

I just picked up some polished 17X9.5 polished zr1 style from oe yesterday and they have a huge warehouse. Looks to be good quality as well and very resonable. Check ebay.

You want a suggestion, here goes:

1) get a set that are round, square rims stop better but the ride is bumpy.

2) get a set that fits your car, i.e. right offset and size.

Other than that pick out your own, you have to drive the car. If you need suggestions, go look online or a catalog at a tire store. What you like is what is going to look best on your car!!!

I'll give you my opinion. 18" Z06 style wheels all around. 18X9.5" in the front with 275/35/18 tires and 18x10.5" in the back with 295/35/18 tires. Try to stick with an offset in the 56mm range and you will be fine. Tires will not stick out and they will fill the wheel wells nicely. You have a choice of finishes in the after market for these wheels, chrome, polished or painted.

Suggestions?
I think it starts with what you want to spend, if money is not the issue the Fiskes look the best IMO
Bang for the buck, OE has ZR-1s, style in chrome, polished, gunmetal, and blk. Z0-6's in chrome, polished all look great, many here have all the above in their pics/sig. check it out.
I liked the zr-1 style in chrome see my pics.
Bottom line, as was stated, it really is about what YOU like, after all you have to live with them

Interesting you mentioned that. The spokes are set in far enough I was kicking around the idea of getting a spinner kit to go with them.
