I really love my 93 ruby but I have a long road ahead of me with repairs, cleaning, etc. The car is not my daily driver. I may put 500 miles on it a month...If that but it is pushing 78,000. Here is a list of items that need to be replaced and/or fixed.
Clutch assembly
power antenna
rims
head gaskets
intake gaskets
U Joints
Rear Hub
Stock stereo
Some interior upholstry.
Here are the items I want to replace but are not needed
calipers/ rotors and lines
exhaust to headders
suspension
My question is, Would it be better to replace with factory parts to keep the itnegrity of the car and uphold its value or should I install aftermarket with some upgrades...Lowering kit, slotted brakes, FIske M/5 rims, engine mods... I see alot of C4 owners modding their corvettes but will they be worth the money years from now? I mean I will be practically tearing most of the car apart, why not make it the way I want...

Head gasket already bad???? Can't go wrong with Fiske's!!!! I always wonder what I should do to since I also own a 40th.... Mod to have fun or leave it alone to keep the value... My rule of thumb is to do the mods that don't take away from the car (ie. cutting up the body and stuff) and keep the stuff you take off just incase you do decide to sell it you can put it back to stock. If you did a gear swap, no one would ever know until you get on it!!
JMO....

Value? What value, you already have 78k miles on it, its past any amount of value. Go for it, make it the way you want it. Just remember any money you put into, don't expect it back if and when you sell it. The only value you will get from it is value of fun you are to enjoy.
