Side Blinkers?

Side Blinkers?
Whats up, 90 vert here, and when driving at night, I've noticed when i turn on my blinker, my whole left or right side lights up. The light on the side turns on, is it supposed to be blinking? Or is that its purpose? Could somebody please explain this to me. TIA!

Well im sure it happens all the time, but i noticed it at night, because the whole street next to me is covered in light

That light, my friend, is used to illuminate the side you're turning into. Only the amber side marker lights blink when you turn on your blinkers. The white light doesn't blink.

What's next? Are you going to ask about the lights on the side of the car, at the rear corners, and on the rear bumper, that only come on when you put the car in reverse?

One of the many fine features of our great car. You really notice it when turning at night on roads with no lights. It's neat to have the corner lit up.
