I have an 89 vette and I replaced the OEM Radio/Cassette headunit with a Pioneer DEH-P77 CD/Radio + a Peripheral Bose Adapter.
I have a question. The speakers and power antenna are constantly on. How can I wire the head unit up so it can turn on and off the speakers and power antenna?
Anyone had this problem before? I am finding that with the constant power to the speakers, I am concerned the amps will go soon.
I already had to replace my injectors and ECU this year. This teenager starting to cost me.
I installed the Pioneer head unit in my 86, using a bose adapter. I can't remember for sure the interface I used, but I think it was the same one you used. My speaker and antenna do not say on.
I wonder if I hooked it up wrong or I got the wrong Bose Adapter. I bought the headunit and adapter harness in 2003. I have the old GMAH12. I went to http://peripheralelectronics.com and found out they have a new harness adapter SuperVEN4 and a new interface adpter SVHGM1.

I figured it out. I had my power antenna wire going into the ACC wire. I fixed it but putting it into the system relay switch (on/off switch). I hate it when the OEM wires don't match.
The only thing still wrong is the illumination goes off on my Automatic Climate Control whenever I turn the radio on. I think I remember reading a thread that you have to make a special bypass for it to work.
