A guy in my club has a 94 vette. He just replaced the delco radio (not a BOSE) with a Sony and now gets a blinking SYS message near his odometer. The SYS code means that there is an electrical problem or a security problem. A Chevy dealer charged him $80 to look at it and did nothing to fix it. The radio installer is avoiding him. It seems like the computer chip is looking for the old radio. It may be similar to a regular computer that needs to have obsolete references removed from the registry. Does anyone have a solution for getting the blinking SYS to stop?
That is what usually happens when you install an aftermarket radio.
I think the fix is adding a few resistors to the wiring. Do a search and you will find it in prior post. I decided not to add the resistors and let the SYS blink. Didn't want to tear radio out just to add a few 25 cent resistors.
