Default 87 door panel removal

Hi
I am looking for help with how to remove door panels on my 87 convertible.I have gotten the panel loose and the arm rest removed. I removed all screws holding switch panel in place but am having no luck separating it from door panel. Thought I would ask the experts before I broke something. thanks. Randy

Make sure you get all of the screws there are some hidden ones in the door pulls and in the carpet.

There are the screws around the lower carpet, one around the rear of the panel on the door edge, the four holding the Bose speaker grill, two in the door handle area.

Then there is the manual door lock **** that needs to be pried off.

After that you should be able to slide the door panel forward to clear the door lock rod and the door handle.

Then slide it up to clear the top channel; this is easier if the window is down.

At that point move the panel slightly away from the door and unplug all the electrical connectors. You will need a wrench to remove the two bolts holding the plug to the courtesy lights.

There is a web site that has complete instructions on removing the front Bose speakers on '89 and older. It is quite detailed and has illustrations including the removal of the door panel. It's http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereor...etteFspk89.htm
