driver window
whenever the window is fully up or down, the door closes fine. Whenever the window is cracked a few, it rattle uncontrolably and sounds like something is broken inside wheneer closing the door. Could the glass have fallen off the track?

What your hearing is most likely the window guide stop, now broken in pieces. There is a thread here running about window guide stops. It attaches to the front on the glass at the bottom and runs the glass along a pre-bend rod attached inside the door. It's made of plastic and is easily broken.
