I am thinking of installing a cut off switch because my 94 sits for weeks some times and I want to save my battery. I know if I install this switch that I will have to reset my radio stations. Are there any other drawbacks?
I have one on my 89 and use it all the time when I know I won't be driving it for a while. You can get the thing that plugs into the cigarette lighter and uses a 9-volt battery to keep the radio presets. I have an aftermarket alarm on mine that goes off every time I hook the juice back up so I have to use the alarm override to start it. The 9-volt was enough electricity to make the alarm function just enough to beep until it ran out, so I am unable to use it.
Collector car people also use it as a safety item because without electricity if an animal chews through the wires they can't short out.
Is your Vette garaged? Mine is. The battery cutoff sounds like a good idea, but I use a trickle charger adn just keep mine hooked to that when i won't be using it from extnded periods... It keeps the battery charged and I don't have to reset my radio each time...

I have a battery cut off switch (145 amp electronic circuit breaker from an Audio place) and never use it becuase a Battery Tender is better!
I've been using theirs for four years now and it's still working great. You want a charger that won't overcharge and destroy your battery. This one that Harbor Freight offers will not harm your battery. If you purchase $50 or more in items, shipping is free.

There is a battery cutoff device that has a small knurled **** that you can take off and carry with you. I have one on one of my vehicles and it has an optional jumper with a 20 amp fuse and holder that supplies enough power for the memory and such but will self destruct (the fuse) if you try and start the vehicle.

As has been said here, a battery tender is the best solution for mothballed cars. I have not yet bought one, so when my Vette sits in the garage for more than a couple of weeks during the winter, I just hook up my regular charger for a few hours every couple of weeks. Works just fine.
Lead acid batteries self discharge up to 1% each day even disconnected. Discharge will occur slightly faster with the normal 50 milliamps or less leakage current, but your battery will last longer if you keep it charged up with a battery tender when you park it. As batteries discharge, lead sulphate collects on the plates and lead sulphate is an insulator. Fully sulphated batteries are door stops!
Leave the battery connected and buy a battery tender!
i agree with the trickle charger. seems like it would be a pain to cut all electrical charges off the corvette all the time. who knows what would all need reprogrammed.
