Hidden Sub Pics PLEASE!
Hey guys, I'm pretty big into music, and I love cruising listening to my favorite songs. Most the time i listen to rap/hip-hop because mostly of the beat, sometimes the lyrics. Just recently into the country music scene too haha. Anyways, listening to rap, I want a nice quality sound. I've got a 90 Vert with the factory Gold Bose setup. The cassete/CD with the 4 speakers. I plan on eventually replacing the Head Unit and the speakers all the way around. And I deffinitely want a Sub in the back. Problem is, my vert has VERY little room back there. I've seen a few pictures of subs hidden in the back, where the storage containers are. Thats like something i would want, still leaving most of the space of this "trunk", but still not being in the way of the dropped top. Could anybody please post some pictures of your setup with a sub, how was installation, and price range as well? Also your head unit and speakers if possible. THANK YOU!
I would have posted in general audio, but I dont know much about speakers, I dont speak that language yet. So I was hoping you guys could give me a little more patience.

Hahaha. I've heard that plenty of times before. Thats why I'm getting into the country scene, and i'm now actually going through my dads CD case now, pretty good music back in the day I'd say.
Here is a pic of mine. It is in a fiberglass enclosure inside the storage bin behind the passenger seat. I always leave the lid closed and there is no rattling and it really doesnt effect the tone of the sub much either. I have an Elemental Designs E10k. A fellow forum member is working on making some of these enclosures and will hopefully have some available for sale soon. He might chime in here in case you are interested. Hope this helps.
That is nice!I like it.I was able to put 8's in the original speaker box's in the back.It sounds pretty nice.I wish I had some pics.I'll take some tommorrow and get back
It sounds great. Like I said before, I always keep the door closed so you would never know there is anything in there. It doesnt rattle the door at all and I really cant tell a difference with the door open or closed. With it closed it actually gives it a little deeper sound. It has a nice hit to it. I have my amp right behind the drivers seat so you would have to be looking for it to see it. Going this route you get great bass and still get to keep the car looking stealth. The forum member I mentioned in my other reply to yours goes by deiaggie. He is talking about making fiberglass enclosures that will fit in the storage bin just like mine. Not sure if he is still thinking about doing this, but you might want to look him up and message him to see how its coming along.
I know,But imagine the vibration! In my exeperience this messes with some electronics.I had 2 12's in my car at one point and you talk about vibration. It rattled the bolts out of my back window. The window got really loose and I was like WTF!It was actually really entertaining!!!

Ah, I gotcha! I guess when I was younger (wait, I am only 33) I might have had some problems. I dont crank it too much anymore. I just like a well balanced system. Every now and then though, you have to crank it do drown on the drone of my exhaust. I think it is almost time to upgrade to some Corsas!

Ive got a small system but its not stealth like the guy above. That ED is nice, ive great things about them. Image Dynamics is good too, i bet one ID 8 would sound good in the storage compartment. Oh yea BTW: Check out the Audio section for this stuff too.
I just got back from a stereo shop today. This guy has won awards for his setups, and Best Buy won't touch a Bose equiped Vette. This is what he gave me.
Clarion 655 HU unit @ $300
Infinity 6x9 @ $120
Infinity 6.5 @ $90
Kit and installation costs $145
This doesn't include a sub, but he said I could put an amp under one of the seats, and two 8" subs in the back later if I wanted. The HU is nice in that it can be adjusted to match the color of the other dash lights. Hope this helps some.
