Clean your throttle body and if necessary the IAC valve. Just test the results by opening the butterfly's and giving it a good spray of Throttle Body cleaner. Don't loose the plastic straw. If its real nasty in there back side of plates probably need to remove it and give it a good cleaning. Order new gaskets before hand.

How many miles?

Does it smoke at all when you start it?

I'm no pro, but I'd do a compression check and look for consistency across all cylinders. I'd also put a vaccuum guage on and look for a steady needle, probably in the 20" range at idle. Might give you an idea of the conditions in your motor. I'm sure others will correct add more about compression and vaccuum readings.

It sounds like the intake just needs a good cleaning.

If you pull the IAC motor to clean the pintel and it's bore under the TB, there is a method on my site to set base idle and the TPS voltages.

Are you getting any stored trouble codes??

If you get a puff of smoke on start up, and it hesitates when cold, valve guide seals are the most likley culprit there, quite a common thing.
