Im new to the vette world so Im asking a million questions. My 87 starts ruff, it fires right up it just idles ruff. I changed the plugs and wires but it didnt help much.Once it warms up it smooths out and runs great. Any ideas?
Clean your throttle body and if necessary the IAC valve. Just test the results by opening the butterfly's and giving it a good spray of Throttle Body cleaner. Don't loose the plastic straw. If its real nasty in there back side of plates probably need to remove it and give it a good cleaning. Order new gaskets before hand.
I'm no pro, but I'd do a compression check and look for consistency across all cylinders. I'd also put a vaccuum guage on and look for a steady needle, probably in the 20" range at idle. Might give you an idea of the conditions in your motor. I'm sure others will correct add more about compression and vaccuum readings.
