I was just curious whether or not the opti system is better matched to the AC-Delco wires rather than after market like Taylor. The after market boast about low resistances and spiro cores, is there any real benefit of this to a stock engine? I was reading recently where due the the body material and engine compartment heat that the General designed its wires specific for the requirements of the Vette/LT1.
When I bought my red spiro-pros last year, one of the questions I asked was about their resistance to heat. I was told the Spiro-pros could stand up to around 400*F temperatures. I don't know whether the guy knew what he was talking about, but I bought the wires and can only hope they are as good as he said.

Yeah I've had the Taylor's on for a couple years now, but with all these problems I'm experiencing I'm thinking of swapping them out for a new set of AC-Delco's. When I got my set of Taylor's the coil wire would not seat on the opti, so I had to use my replaced AC Delco coil wire until they replaced it. I've noticed during my work on the ignition systems that the Taylor coil wire sure wasn't snapping on tight to the coil. I also had the #8 wire plug terminal pull off when I replaced the plugs two weeks ago. Again I had to pull out my old #8 wire out and use it until I had a chance to repair the spiro pro wire. I can't say much for Taylor-Vertex customer support, all they kept saying was buy a repair kit for the wire. I pointed out to them the repair kit doesn't contain the 180 terminal. Duh! So after begging to buy a new wire from them they finally rubbed my face in it and said they would send a replacement without charging me. LOL they sent me a 10.5 mm ThunderVolt wire instead of the Red Spiro Pro, good think I wasn't waiting on them.
Any way that's the 411 as to why I posted this for opinions.
