Katrina and Vanacors
Anyone heard the fate of Vanacor's in the wake of the Hurricane?
From the zip code list published on FedEx's website, it would appear that Vanacor's is smack-dab in the middle of the worst flooding (Katrina). Though it's probably way too early to say, this flood (combined with the family tragedy in 11/03) may put the nails in the the proverbial coffin for the business.
Mrs. Vanacor's has been running the business since their son shot her husband in 2003. It would be easy to imagine that a massive insurance claim would be her ticket to a different lifestyle. (She might view this as a way to get away from the uneasy memories of the past and start something new).
Anyone know whether they'll "survive the storm" and make a comeback?
There are hundreds of thousands of people that no longer have a home, unknown dead and you guys are worried about Corvette parts? You guys are all right.

Just talked to Vanacors today. Seems they're back in business. They were only down 2 weeks (due to lack of power/phone). They say there was no water/wind damage!

They also say they have freight service back.
Good news - glad to see some folks down there are back up and running.
