right behind my rear tires..it is a mess..I guess GM put some sort of laminate on this..is there anyway to clean it, so it doesn't look lousy? BTW I am a real neat freak and it bothers me
Last weekend I took all the front wheel well pieces off of the car, even the top piece that mounts to the clam. I scrubbed each piece with soap, water and scrub brush. I carefully cleaned off the little chunks of tar with a razor blade. Then I polished each piece with “Pledge” furniture polish. That stuff took off the last of the tar and made each piece look like new. I then treated the weather-strip with silicon and put the whole thing back together. It was a PITA but worth it. It took me a at least six or seven hours start to finish.

Do you mean the inner fender or the lower bumper?
Inner fender = Simplegreen then armor all for shine
Body panels = Clay bar then a good wax or polish

It seems GM coated a small piece of this area, (right behind the tire) with some kind of laminate..it appears to be peeling in spots..I was wondering if it can be cleaned or taken off..
That's odd because its just a piece of sheet molded fiberglass. I don't recall a clear coat of sorts but maybe there is. Would make sense though as it would provide a great sealer to the piece that gets a lot of road abuse. If it's really bad wonder how much a new panel is?
