Just wondering, how do these decals hold up to engine heat?

They should hold up fine though eventually they will crack and peel.

I don't know anyone who personally has them, but I have seen them a couple times at shows, etc. I never looked that closesly, but I would imagine they'll hold up for a limited time, and then give way to the heat.

The pictures in the add with the green fuel rail covers, red letters and red valve cover bolts are of forum member JB66's engine.

You could ask him.

I know because we got our fuel rails cover and engine parts painted together at the same time.

I bought model airplane paint, red and white and got my sure handed daugther to paint my fuel rail covers and asr covers.

Mine have held up fine. Here's a pic.

Here is a thread when we both posted pics of our engine after the paint work.

I have a different forum id there.

I put those same ebay letters on my covers back in March.

I apologize for the quality of the photos (I just took them !) but I think the letters still look good. I would recommend them.

Go to Wal Mart and in the arts and crafts section you will find paint pens for about $2 to $3.00 in many colors. I used the red medium point and just colored in the letters that are already there. It looks great, took only five minutes, and cost 2-3 dollars. I also did the ASR. I gave it two coats and it has held up fine for a few months now (sill looks new) and if it does get dull, I'll just go over it again. Just my .02 cents

I bought the factory LT4 covers, they come painted already. My hand isn't as steady as it used to be so for me to paint them, it was easier to buy them done already.

I had the stick on letters, but after about two months they started falling off.

These are the first item I made after I purchased my Vette, two years ago and 35000 ago. In other words, they hold up.

As far as painting is concerned, you just place the tip of the pen inside each letter and follow along. It's very hard to mess it up. I mean very hard beacuse the tip of the paint pen fits perfectly into the letters.

I had the decals and now have the ones LT1spud has.The decals were a pain to install as they curl up really easily. The MAM plastic ones are easy to install and look great.
