RPO Code for 6 Speed
I have a '96 LT-4 Grand Sport . I was checking the RPO codes on another GS today and noticed two differend RPO codes for the 6 speed trans.
ML9 - Transmission, Manual 6 Speed ZF (mine)
MN6 - Merchandised Transmission, Manual 6 Speed (the other GS)
Does anyone know what the difference is?
PS Would have asked on the GSR but forgot my password!

Below are the RPO codes used typically used for transmissions. You sure yours isn't ML9?
* M30 - Automatic 4-speed electronic transmission
* MD8 - Automatic 4-speed transmission
* MK2 - Manual 4-speed Doug Nash transmission
* ML9 - Manual 6-speed, ZF-transmission
* MM0 - Automatic transmission
* MM4 - 4-speed manual transmission
* MN6 - 6-speed manual transmission
* MX0 - Automatic transmission
* MY6 - Manual 4-speed transmission

Actually you're partially correct. The ZF which I have is RPO ML9. I corrected the original post). The other ones RPO is shown as MN6?

GM had (has?) a tendency to have variations in the codes they used. At the top of this section is a sticky that lists all of the codes. Every once in a while new ones are added. Browse that and you'll see that there are a lot of different codes from year to year for the same option. Sometimes the codes changed inside a model year.

ML9 = ZF 6-speed manual transmission
MN6 = provisions for manual transmission

My '95s RPO sheet lists both ML9 and MN6.
