Guys, I just ordered a new shift boot from Redline. I think I know how to remove the shifter and boot but any tips and cautions will greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Which shifter did you order? I got one from Redline as well and installed it on my '94 six speed. Don't know if there is a difference but the only problem I ran into is the plastic pieces that come with the **** didn't fit so I didn't use them. Just make sure you get it nice and tight or it will come loose after a couple days

I recently had a post up with a pic of the Red Line boot installed on my A4 shifter. I like the overall appearance and it's nice not having to manually hold the sifter in the 1st gear position.
Since I didn't have the appropriate adhesive, I used black RTV and some small clamps to attach the new boot to the metal boot frame.
Also, if your shift position pointer has become dull, it's a good time to apply a copla coats of orange (I used red) paint to brighten it up.
