Default Another wire question

I have a connector hanging down by my left knee. It comes from above the hood release handle. It is a black connector with a red/white wire and a white wire.
Any ideas???

Does everything work ok??

Does the connector have 1/4watt resistor inserted between the pins?

If I pull away the lower panel on the driver's side on my '85, I see a few unconnected wires hanging.

Everything (as far as I know) works, so I'm assuming those wires are for the cruise control if it were installed from the factory (mine doesn't have it).

Could it be something like that?

I have cruise control from the factory and it doesn't work. Possibly that is the problem. I haven't removed the lower dash yet. I'll try that this weekend.

I don't know if there is a 1/4 resistor there. I will look a little closer.
