Yesterday, I went down the hill from our house to feed our dogs and I noticed something...

and then I see turning around next to our driveway...

So I watched for a while, from quite a ways away (distance + autofocus = bad pictures). So I took a few more pics and waited to see the outcome.

They had the guy in the back of a car and were searching the vette, underneath, under the hood, everywhere. The tow truck had parked in front and lowered the bed, unhooked his chains. I wanted to stay and get pics, incase they messed up the guys car. He must have been speeding, because there's a pretty good straight passing lane right before he got pulled over and they probably had to follow for a long time, because it's pretty curvy before that with some straights.

Then for whatever reason, after a couple of the officers look through a small paper bag on their hood. They get the guy out of the back of the car, send the tow truck away, have the guy sign something (ticket?) and send him on his way. Were they trying to scare this guy or something? Seems like the tow truck driver should be

Maybe the guy bought the last peanut covered donut and they used the flatbed as a scare tactic to get it?

Awww -c'mon guys. We are in the process of doing biannual physicals on about 400 Grand Rapids, Michigan Police Officers at my clinic. So far 99% of them have been pleasant and cooperative. I'm glad they are out there protecting us.

Maybe they're profiling us Vette owners now!
I'm with you, Ron. These guys and gals do a difficult job, generally pretty well, and deserve our support. They have mine.

It may be. The other day on my way home from school in the vette, I came around a corner pretty hard after a passing lane people fly through. I wasn't going near enough for a ticket, I could just handle to turn better than others. As I came out of the turn I see a CHiPer and he INSTANTLY hit his brakes as I went by (he wasn't going fast enough to need too). I think he was ready to come 'n get me, but didn't when he looked at his radar
