Default Hood won't open

My hood is stuck closed, the wires coming out of the underside of the dash are all mangled and loose and nothing I do seems to be working. I just want to be able to open the hood to change the oil. Any idea how to do this?

This happened to me once. Try gripping the cable sleave with a pair of vise-grips and pulling the actual cable with a pair of pliers. The other option is a special tool that you can slid under the hood next to the A pillar and the door on the driver's side... hope this helps.

Also, you can remove the front tires, and splash guard, then get long screwdriver and move the lock, requires 2 persons if you get to this.

There are also threads with links to how to make the emerg hood release tool.

You might want to add this if you get the hood open, just in case .

Push down on both sides of your hood to make sure its aligned. Then pull hood release again. Sometimes its just frozen stuck or just mis-aligned.

Did this happen after you were driving your car? I had a problem with opening the hood when the car was hot for awhile. I readjusted the cables and added some grease to the catches and havent had the problem since. I have also heard of have you and a helper like described before have someone push down on the hood and the other pull the cables. Good luck I knwothe feeling
