Default L98 Emblem placement

Hi all;

The only search results I could find were for a ZR-1 emblem, with a dead link; SO...Does anyone have a fairly close up pic of the 'L98-5.7' emblem and where it generally is placed in relation to rear RHS tail lights on my '85?

*Am hoping this wont require a secret handshake for secret mens business trade secrets! hehehe

There was no emblem from the factory. The ones you've seen are Ecklers/mid america concoctions based on the ZR1 emblem.

The only place these things say L98 is on the RPO sheet. The only place they say 5.7 is on the window sticker.

Yeah thanks, I realise that. I guess I just go with the gut feeling on placement. PS; I never knew they said 5.7 on the window; U mean when they were in a car yard NEW, waiting to be sold, or something else? Mine has no such sticker...

If you look at pics from a ZR1 you will get an idea as to where you could place them.

Yes, that window sticker. Should be plenty of ZR1 pics in the forum galller though to give you an idea where to put it.

This is a really old picture but I have the "Z52 5.7 emblem on the back. You can get them from Mid America and they come already painted.

I was overseas with the Vette (In England) for 3 years and car enthusiasts over there were all into showing what size (in liters) there car was...the bigger the better of course, so I thought I'd show a little 5.7 to anyone who cared to look.

You can just barely see it with the new paint scheme, but I had to touch the emblem up to match.

Cheers mate; yes I looked up ZR-1 pics and found where they all seemed to 'sit'; and put mine on in roughly the same place (RHS of the badge seems to sit more or less in a verticle line to the RHS edge of the right tail light). Heres where I put it;

Yep, i really did want it there. And i reckon it looks bloody good too. Glad they sent the wrong colour cause white on red looked much better anyway!!! Gets more respect from the rice burners when they know you have a full 5.7 litres and not a milk bottle under the bonnet!!(all the paint came off the Corvette part, so i went aroung the edge in black and left the rest white.)

I reckon yours would look bloody good in silver too, to match the Corvette badge and the stripes

Well as I posted this quite a few weeks ago; I've learnt to live with it. Besides, I so rarely see my car from behind - it's just the 99% of traffic that have to look at the back of my car! hehe
