I do not have that on my ruby
I have owned my 40th Vert for over eight years and have never seen that emblem on any Ruby including the eighty lined up @ Carlisle last year. Sorry, but it does look like the hat pin/ tie tack. Makes for a good story to a misinformed buyer on Ebay if you ever wanted to sell...."only put on for GM employees" wonder if they got the employee discount

Interesting stuff aside from a few smarta$$'s
One person says the VP was high up at GM and wanted this badge on all Rubies but due to cost cutting was taken out. Then a retired employee says they were on all "management lease" cars. Yet know one has seen one.
BTW: I agree it looks like a pin in the pic, but looks better in person.

I can attest to this, as I have been in Dan'd car! It does look as if it belongs there. I doubt it is a pin that was pushed in.

Like wise...........Remember that here in the Motor City all those design vip's etc. were right here. While I believe that no-one else has seen this, I have seen weirder (is that a word) around here. MI abrams tanks doin 75 mph. on visible test track off a main street etc. Guys like L. Shinoda used to come to the slot car track every week and race, he also designed some slot car bods for us which looked very similar to what you see today in real fomula 1etc. The tech, center had a bunch a real enthuisists in the day, and I think it is very possible someone had a few of those made up and threw in there personal cars. I was a mopar guy raced some real hotrods in class and I have things that were only made and given to very few to place on the car (IE: "on the seventh day God created the hemi") etc. etc. M.O. FLAME ON

I can ASSURE you that was not how it was meant. Amazing how people attach all sorts of meaning to words over time. Pretty soon every word you utter will have a double meaning. I hope that this forum is mature enough to realize that I made the comment purely in jest and not in any way as a derogatory inference to any group of people.

I thought that term was "*****"... I've not heard that before and being ½ Japanese with a loud mouth, I thought I had heard them all from all the stuff I stir up

And to comment on Dan's "pin" it does look sharp in the car!!! It would be interesting to see the origins of that item... or to see if it can be replaced at Ecklers or another vette vendor. I still say it stands that his car is special... just like a short bus

No... I knew you didn't, I was just saying that I haven't heard that word in so long, and the only meaning of it to me was what I wrote, thats all!

Kwik, I know the popular one starts w/ ch! (although I thought that was for only someone of Chinese descent, BTW my ex-gf was Chinese, so...)

Lets not get all crazy an' PC in here! Ok no hijacking...

Oh, and for the 40th badge, I have no idea, looks like an add on to me! All the literature, and books, and crap I can possibly get my hands on to read about Vettes, I never once heard about that special badge...
