Imron was and stll is very good paint. However, there are much better paints on the market now. What you want is a very good base coat clear coat paint. I recommend Dupont Croma Base with the High Solids clear. This is the best paint I have ever used. The High Solids clear is very glossy and the paint looks wet even years down the road.
dupont has always been a fav. i have recently been using limco 1-2-3, simple product to use and works great on tractors that i restore. i would use dupont if it was easy to get. small town has limited access to stuff

Hey, Cav, how about a little primer on the newest paints, what they are, how they're made, etc.?
anybody paint their vette with dupont imron paint or what paint did you use
I sprayed Imron for 10 years on Peterbilts average paint job was 5-6 gallons. It hard to use in a cold climate (Portland Ore.)
Its really hard to blend with and its highly toxic. A nieghbor sprayed his 911 with Imron and his wife found him the garage out cold.
5 days in a comma the docs said theres no antidote for polyisocianates.
You iether pull out of it or you die. Theres well documented cases of death and near death by non-pros using Imron. Not only that but theres also serious central nervous system damage with use of Imron or any modern paints. Leave the painting to the pros.
It startches easly and spot repair is not recomended by Du Pont.
Avoid Imron.
I use Centari or Chroma Color. If at all possible use a single stage.
