Default 383 issues

I have two issues with the 383 just put in on not enough vacume to run the brakes and the other it runs like a dog any sugestions?

A vacuum canister might help with the brakes.

Sounds like you need a good tuner.

I think it is universally accepted that a 383 needs a lot of tuning and tweaking before they run very well.

Have you tuned the car? My 383 has a fairly good size cam, not huge but not small either and I make 13 pounds of vacume and the brakes work fine. I used a mail order tune to start with so i would not hurt the motor durring break in and it ran darn near stock from the work go in terms of how the car drives just with a whole lot more power. Without more information then what you listed it could be a many things. Just a stab in the dark if you do have a tune would be valve adjustment, it will affect vacume and make it run like crap but so would a vacumme leak. What are the specs of the motor, what tune are you running, do you have any data logs, does it run like a dog in open and closed loop, any codes?

I have spent the last two days yuning more chaceing codes and fixing them solved the vacume problem. I will have it at the dino on tuesday to get base line on hp and ftlbs. One paper am getting 560 at fly wheel but the dino will be the tale tale think yall
