need help with headlight
I am trying to change the bushings in my headlight motor. I can't get the roll pin out of the shaft, it is seized. After trying to hammer it out with a punch I tried drilling it. Do I need some kind of special drill bit. The metal the pin is made out of seems very hard and my bit won't cut into it. Now where I have hammered on it and drilled on it the pin is belled at both ends. Tech tools said the pin should come out easy. I am afraid to hammer on it anymore I don't want to bend the shaft, I probably have already bent it. How do I get this thing out?

Glad to see you got it worked out. I have a '94 (polo green also) and I'm getting a klunk klunk klunk noise whenever I turn on/off the headlights. Is this what you were experiencing?
