1) Fill the tank with gas and add sta-bil
2) Change the oil
3) Wash and wax
4) Put the battery tender on to keep the battery fresh
5) Add some moisture buckets to aid in moisture prevention
6) Cover her up
7) Forget about her until spring!

No jack stands, your car is not meant to have suspension hanging and the frame is not meant to have load bearing that long.
Put Fuel fresh or sta-bil is gas and fill tank to very top.
Wash/wax/dry car. Clean interior.
Spray silicone on all Rubber door/hatchback seals/stripping & hinges
Change oil
I have storage wheels and tires to save my good rubber, if you don't have that, over inflate tires to say 45 lbs to keep flat spots off.
Stuff tail pipe with steel wool. (Mice)
Put moisture absorbent bags in car.
Put a bar of Irish sping in the car (smells good, mice hate it)
Put plastic sheet under car to keep condensation away
Put a good cover over car.
Put paper between winshield wipers and glass.
I assume it will be indoors.
Put a smart tender on battery(or remove battery)
That should be good for six months or so. I may chime in again or edit if I forgot something. If you are storing for over a year there are other things to do but this list should help for what you need.
Oh, one other thing. If you really want to be a perfectionist, go to a marina supply. They sell a "fogger" for boat engine storage.
When you park the car in its final place remove the intake plenum and while engine is running spray the fogger into the TB until engine dies.
This will protect internals from rust.
I've heard that those fabric anti-static sheets (fabric softener sheets?) keep mice away. Plus makes the interior smell nice depending whether scented or not. No mice last year!!
I tried moth ***** one year (in plastic cups) and the odor was pretty powerful in the spring. But no mice!!!!

Also put the Irish Spring in the engine compartment. Mice chewed my injector wiring (only of the passenger side!) when it was stored by the last owner.
I have also heard that placing a bag of charcoal in the car will help absorb any moisture.
Oh yeah, Home Depot sells an electronic device that you plug in near the car. It emits high frequency sounds that are supposed to keep the mousies away.
I put dryer sheets and irish spring inside, moth ***** and dryer sheets under hood, and moth ***** all around and under the car .I keep the car inside covered in a barn ,no problems with mice.
