Default Brake Peddle Switch

I posted a thread a few weeks ago about my third brake light not working and was told to check the switch at the brake peddle. Could someone be a little more specific as far as location and possibly a description? Thanks

Actually the brake light sw is a DPST so that there are two separate circuits, one for the low stop lights that goes through the Turn/Hazard Switch Assy. and another that goes directly to the hi brake light and the Anti Lock brake system.

This switch is located atop the bracket on top of the brake pedal assy.; the cruize & TCC switches are located on the underside of that bracket.

If just the third brake light is not working (the main brake lights are working) then it's not the switch at the pedal.
Hey YELLOWLUST.......that information is WRONG...i had the same exact problem with the tail lites working but NOT the third brake lite. I thought the same thing that if one is working then the other should also work..so it must be a bulb or wire to the 3rd lite. That switch does have 2 circuits..one for the regular brake lites and one JUST for the 3rd lite. I changed out my switch at a cost of $7 and that took care of the problem. Just a bear getting to it...you have to be nimble and somewhat of a contortionist to get behind and under that pedal and then get your hands up in there. Change that switch and your troubles will be solved..........assuming that you've checked the condition of the little LED lites in the brake lite and they are GOOD. Good luck............
