yes they can handle it, may wear out a little quicker but they are going to wear out anyway, I use the Silverstars in mine.

Has anyone swapped in Hella or Bosch headlights with replaceable halogen bulbs? Would the standard plugs work with these?

There is now way I'll spend over a grand on headlights. It must be some kind of fashion statement.

This is the same setup I have and I'm using stock wattage H4 bulbs. What a difference the first time I used them at night! I could finally see again. Highly recommend this mod.

I tried the H4 bulb set ups and was disappointed. AutoZone let me try them out and gave me a refund. So far the SilverStars are the best, but still not bright enough for me. So I drive a little slower at night on dark roads, don't want to hit a deer or anything.

edit: Anybody notice how bright those Ford F-150s are? They are bright, especially when they are behind you. Now if we could just figure out how to put those lights in our C-4s.

If you look at my website the C4 kit has the same output as the c5 kit but the c4 is hi and low HID
This is not a inexpensive solution.
But they are bright you will never complian about headlights being too dim.

I mounted the good Hellas with the 55-65 bulbs. Lots of light!! And if you set them a tad high you can be just as irritating to the other drivers as do the ricers with thier bazillion candle power retna burners.
