Default AAAAAAArrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh!![nevermind]

My new wheels and tires are here in OKC, but not delivered yet!
What the heck is the matter with UPS? Don't they know I need my stuff?

They're here!

Calm down. I take it you did a "UPS Track" and that's why you know there in the state, but are they at the sorting office for your area? Down here UPS can deliver as late as 7PM so with any luck they still come knocking at the door today.

OOOPS! just saw your "they're here" remark. See, all that screamng for nothing.

There's still hope. Go to the UPS tracking site and see if it says something like "on truck for delivery"
Mine arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday afternoon.

OK, I just saw that "they're here" party thingie too. Idiot for the day to me.

I know, I know...I had to go put them on first, which was an ordeal in itself.
Read below for the review, but first things first. Here's the pics...

Sorry about the pic quality. I stopped on the way home before it got too dark.
Anyway, all I can say is don't EVER lose the key to your locking lugs. I didn't lose mine, it just didn't come with the Vette when I bought it. I looked EVERYWHERE in the car and it is not there
After going to two different Chevy dealerships, I just decided to get the locks off myself. It probably would have been a lot easier had it been stock wheels, but I had some old Gottis. Not much room to get any kind of tool on. I finally wound up welding a bolt to the lock. Worked great for all but the last one...I probably spent 2 hours on it, and finally just got the torch after it. Luckily I had some spare studs laying around the shop.
Anyway, they are on and I like 'em! Now I get to spend tomorrow cleaning and painting the calipers...

I guess I should give you guys my impressions of the wheels and tires. I got them from AFS through eBay. 17x9.5 and 17x11 Black Chrome with Sumitomo HTRZ 275/40ZR17 and 315/35ZR17 MEATS for the back. They were $1642 to my door($1495 + $147 shipping). You can see the auction here. I won the auction last Friday around 3pm my time and they got here this morning. They were put on the truck Tuesday, so that's pretty damn good for UPS ground.
When I opened the first box and pulled out the top wheel and tire, I thought it was one of the rears. Then I looked at the label and found out it was a front! These suckers are W I D E ! At least compared to my old tires....
The chrome plating is far from show quality, but not too bad. It will do for my DD. A few imperfections on the face of the wheels but you have to be looking for them.
Looking at the rear of the wheels... They are polished, but had what looked like orange peel in a paint job. I would assume that the plating would have to be pretty thick to cause that. I will have to keep my eye out for any peeling...
Oh yeah, if you look at the pics in the auction link above, the wheels look pretty dark. Get them out in the sun and they aren't nearly as dark as I thought they were going to be. But it is darker than regular chrome, and I think will look killer when I spray my car Spiral Gray later on.
Not really too much to say about the tires other than they are fat. Just what I wanted. So far there is less road noise than my old BFGs, but I was only on asphalt pavement. We'll see what it does tomorrow.
The wheels and tires came mounted and balanced, and they did a superb job of it. The drive home was very smooth.
All in all I'm happy with them. I'm kinda disappointed in the lack of different styles of wheels available for the earlier C4 offset without running adapters. Everybody and their dog has chrome ZR1s, and that's why I got the black chrome. Something different...
As usual, YMMV.

Remember I'm here for any and all UPS questions. 20 years with the company, I know a thing or two about it.

Hey Mojo, here's one for the competition. I'm expecting a package for my other car from FedEx. Got the tracking number and plugged it into their site. It said expected delivery 10/14/2005 (yesterday). Waited whole day...no package. Plugged the tracking number in this morning and "expected delivery date" is no longer listed. WTF??

Was it Fed Ex air or Fed Ex Ground? Air is pretty good and usually ontime, but the ground guys being owner operators will usually deliver whenever they feel like it. They wait till they get enough packages for an area to make it worth their while, and with gas prices, they probably aren't driving more than they have to. Fed Ex Home delivery is the same way, but kind of inbetween Air and Ground services.
I ordered some drag radials, got one on Friday and one the following Tuesday.
Also I ordered some stuff for my truck and they had a promise date of the 18th, I got it on the 21st.
At UPS if there is a holdup, it's usually because it got misrouted, or it's damaged.
We have a new system in place(not quite nationwide yet) and it is perfect in concept, but in reality it's far from being effective. That's anotherreason for delay.
