Also, I can't decide to upgrade the opti cap or just reinstall an original. Corvette mechanic told me he rarely sees anything come in due to wet opti unless the pump goes out. Since I'm replacing the pump I shouldn't have to worry, right. Lastly, at 97,000, would you guys simply replace the radiator as well?
Thanks
If your Opti is original, and has 97k miles on it, I'd suggest you just replace the whole thing. I'd also suggest you consider the DynaSpark as a replacement. If a first-generation OEM Opti gets wet, from whatever cause, you'll almost surely have problems (it can get douched by a leaking pump, hose, etc, or by hosing down the engine).
I'd base the decision about the radiator upon its apparent condition. You might want to get it inspected and flow tested at a radiator shop, since you have it out of the car. If you have any doubts about it, I'd just go ahead and install a new one.

How much did you pay for a DynaSpark as opposed to a Opti. I am assuming I need to remove the entire distributor, not just the cap? In other words, the coolant fried the electronics inside the distributor? As far as the radiator goes, the idiot who picks up our salvage metal mistakenly took the old radiator I remove to the dump. Ain't that a pisser? So so much for radiator testing. I'm justifying buy believing that it was old and ready to be replaced anyway.

I don't know whether you need a whole new Opti, or just the cap/rotor, but if I were that deeply into it, I'd just go ahead and replace the entire unit. The labor's enough to justify it, IMHO. Yes, the DynaSpark is a bolt-on replacement for the entire OEM Opti unit.
I paid $600 for the DynaSpark, and as far as I'm aware, that's still the going price. There is another thread that's popped up here that indicates the DynaSpark will be difficult to obtain until early next year, because of parts shortages, etc, so if you're eager to get your car back on the road, it may not be an option for you.
Good luck with it.
